It is 30 years since Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and President J.R. Jayawardena signed the historic Indo-Lanka Accord that sought to end the Sri Lankan civil war. The accord marked India’s direct involvement in the conflict, and triggered a chain of events that left a mark on the histories of both nations.
