A massive controversy has erupted over the alleged deployment of Chinese military personnel in Hambantota. Reports claim several Chinese men were spotted dredging an ancient tank in the Hambantota District. The Chinese men were seen roaming at a civil operation to dredge and clean the ‘Tissamaharama Wewa’ in southern Sri Lanka. These Chinese men were reportedly wearing uniform similar to those worn by People’s Liberation Army soldiers.
