How India Is Reaching Out To Countries On The Indian Ocean To Counter China In The Region

While an aggressive China is seeking more access to the Indian Ocean, India is making efforts to counter the dragon in the region. India recently held a special training course for 6 Indian Ocean Region (IOR) countries. Four of the countries belong to the western Indian Ocean where China poses potential threats. 35 diplomats from Madagascar, Comoros, Seychelles, Mauritius, Sri Lanka & Maldives participated in the 2-week course. Comoros and Madagascar in the western Indian Ocean sent 12 and 10 diplomats respectively.
