India’s S-400 Deal With Russia May Upset US But Biden Needs India As An Ally More Than An Enemy

India will soon receive its first batch of S-400 air defence systems from Russia under a $5.4 billion deal. Russia’s S-400 surface to air missile system will further enhance India’s air defence capabilities. But the United States has conveyed its unease over India’s defence deal with Russia. Reports say that Washington might reconsider sanctioning India once the Russian defence systems enter the country. The US has sanctioned China and Turkey under Countering American Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) for dealing with Russia.
