The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has signed a pact with India’s Adani Group to build a deep-sea container terminal in Colombo. As per the deal, the Adani Group with its local partner John Keells and SLPA will develop the West Container Terminal (WCT). The deal worth $700 million is seen as a move to counter China’s rising influence in the island-nation.
